Dead Beat Dads [reparation: # 55]

Dads owe(s) Children

A father that has nothing at all to do with his child even though all lines of communication are open to him, (and nicely even) by the mother is considered to be a dead beat dad.

Forcing a mother to "take it to court" because he refuses to communicate in ANY form whatsoever with her or any member of her family. Refusing the child, denying the child‘s existance (paternity test revealed baby as his) refusing to visit, or buy anything for her makes him a dead beat father.

anonymous: It is a shame that things like this happen. It breaks my heart anytime I hear a story like that. The system is so screwed up when it comes to child support. They put fathers in jail for not paying support which only further sets them behind in payments, they need to order them to do mandatory community services such as cleaning up roadsides and city buildings and apply the hourly wage to back support, this way they are working for free, a community service is done, and they learn that if they don‘t pay it willingly that they will have to do sucky jobs against their will. And then the ones who don‘t pay make it harder on the ones who do because if they happen to go through a rough patch and miss a payment...they are lumped together with the rest of the deadbeats and punished equally. It makes no sense.

anonymous: Depends on how/when you got pregnant. Reliable birth control is universally and cheaply available. Having known several men who‘ve gone through this, I‘ve run out of sympathy for the women who lie about their current fertility, then chain the innocent man to 19 years of bondage when they get pregnant. Until there is a male pill available, women need to take some responsibility for their actions.

Now, if you both decided to have a child, that‘s another situation entirely.

anonymous: My ex husband and I have 3 children and after we divorced he did the same thing. They are all teens now and still try to send him letters, emails, and cards but to no avail.

im a mom releaved that her kid: what about the mother that invents lies and closes the lines of communications...Ive been on both sides. ive see a lot of lying,bribings,coercing of the child/children and its not pretty alot of people get hurt including the little ones that this is all about!!A mother should go to court.
